Online Program Management (OPM) companies are all the rage right now as the entire higher education sector (finally) rushes to get online in a big way. But the roots of OPMs are decades old and are inextricably intertwined with those of organically grown online programs like SUNY’s.

Michael will review this history with an eye toward separating the genuine areas of innovation in Online Program Management from those where they are making use of lessons learned elsewhere—and areas where they are still catching up.
